Experience
I am currently a PhD Student at UMich, studying Macromolecular Science & Engineering. I have had extensive tutoring and teaching experience, both private and professional. Since my graduation from Columbia University in May of 2013 with my Bachelor's in Chemistry, I have been a substitute teacher in my hometown of Lansing, MI as well as a freelance tutor, where I have accumulated over 300 hours of instruction. As a substitute teacher, I have taught students at the middle and high school levels in the areas of math and science at all levels, and I often utilized classroom management and worked with students to ensure that they understood the material. As a freelance tutor, I tutored students at the high school and college levels in SAT/ACT prep, college preparation (particularly highly-motivated students), and general and organic chemistry. As a tutor, I have experienced so many rewarding results, and I have learned how to tailor my instruction to various learning styles and to be very patient. I would be thrilled to share my love of learning with new students.
